Mehrgol and Jasper’s Aroosi (wedding) was a celebration of two heritages. We were able to beautifully weave together traditional Persian/Iranian wedding customs (like the Sofreh Aghd) with some Black/African American cultural elements (jumping the broom). Two of the most intentional souls we’ve ever met used their day to celebrate the richness of their culture and love.
While their parents and aunties lovingly set up the traditional ceremony table, Kaitlyn from Steel City Florals created breathtaking arrangements that moved both the bride and groom to tears.
Medure’s Catering went above and beyond, mastering Persian dishes that made Mehrgol’s family feel right at home, and DJ Blair set the tone with traditional music that highlighted meaningful cultural dances. It was a celebration as heartfelt as it was beautiful.
